Adapting Biomimicry of the Gecko Eyes to Investigate Better Night Vision
Project information

The project proposes using the biomimicry method to address the low-light issue by studying the gecko, a nocturnal animal with exceptional vision in low-light conditions. The focus of the research will be the helmet gecko, which has 350 times higher cone vision than humans, allowing it to perceive color in low-light conditions. The project aims to uncover the techniques employed by the helmet gecko and use them to develop a process for producing HDR (High Dynamic Range) images in low-light conditions. The expected outcome is a procedure for transforming raw images into HDR images, simulating the visual perspective of the gecko's eyes.
